Oddle
vs
UMAI

The best UMAI alternativefor restaurants built to grow revenue.

UMAI handles reservations, CRM, and marketing — but charges RM 3 per diner every time a guest finds you on Google, and doesn't touch online ordering. Oddle bundles everything.

Most restaurant tech charges you for the guests you already earned.

UMAI's subscription looks reasonable — RM 300–400 a month for reservations, CRM, and automated marketing. Until the bill arrives. Every diner who books through Google Reserve or UMAI's partner network costs you RM 3. A restaurant doing 100 covers a month via Google is paying an extra RM 300 on top — before you've counted the ordering platform you still need.

We made a different call. One flat plan covers reservations, online ordering, delivery, marketing, and an enrolment programme to bring guests back. No per-diner fees. No string of separate tools to manage — one platform to grow your revenue, not many that don't talk to each other.

Restaurants don't fail because their CRM wasn't polished enough. They fail because tables were empty, orders didn't come in, and guests never came back.Jonathan Lim, Founder & CEO, Oddle

How Oddle grows restaurant revenue.

How guests find you, stay with you, and come back. Oddle runs all three steps. UMAI runs the first two — with extra fees attached.

Three tools cost more than running one.

UMAI's subscription is just the start. Add the RM 3-per-diner fees from Google bookings and the online ordering platform UMAI doesn't include — and the monthly bill adds up fast.

RM850/mo · three tools

Illustrative estimate for a 1-outlet restaurant getting about 100 Google bookings per month. UMAI charges per outlet — costs rise with each location. Oddle is one flat plan per brand.

Which one fits your restaurant?

UMAI is a solid tool for the right operator. So is Oddle. The difference is whether you need online ordering and want to avoid per-diner network fees.

Choose UMAI if…

  • You run reservations only — no online ordering — and your Google booking volume is low enough that the RM 3/diner fee doesn't move the needle
  • You're comfortable managing a separate ordering platform and absorbing per-cover fees from Google and partner networks
  • You want a local Malaysian team and a product built specifically for Southeast Asian F&B
  • You don't need guest data from delivery, dine-in, and reservations unified in one record

Choose Oddle if…

  • You want one platform for reservations, ordering, marketing and an enrolment programme — no per-diner network fees on top
  • You serve guests across dine-in, delivery and reservations and want them in one guest record
  • You want Google Reserve without paying RM 3 for every diner who books through it
  • You want to grow revenue — not juggle multiple tools and an unpredictable monthly bill

All the booking basics. Zero per-diner network fees.

Oddle Reserve covers everything you'd expect — floor plan, waitlist, deposits, confirmation reminders, no-show protection. Same depth as UMAI's reservation module. None of the RM 3/diner charge when guests book through Google.

Every booking becomes a guest record that feeds Oddle Marketing automatically. No exporting and importing between tools. One system, one guest, end to end — with ordering data in the same profile.

  • All the basics: floor plan, waitlist, deposits, confirmations, no-show protection
  • Google Reserve integration — no per-diner fees on top of your subscription
  • Automated emails after the visit: review requests, win-backs, 'we miss you' messages
  • Guest data goes into the CRM automatically — no exporting, no copy-pasting

Retention that works for every guest, not just bookers.

UMAI's automated marketing runs on booking data. It's decent — but it misses every guest who ordered delivery, walked in without a reservation, or checked in via Enrolments. Oddle Marketing sees all of them.

Proven email templates send on the days guests are most likely to come back — Day 7, 14, 21, 28. One email per guest reaching every channel, not four separate tools to log into and manage.

  • First-timer welcome email with a voucher for their next visit
  • Win back guests who haven't visited in 60 days
  • Birthday and anniversary messages, sent automatically
  • Same guest across delivery, dine-in, reservations — one email per guest, not the same person getting it three times

The revenue channel UMAI doesn't touch.

UMAI is reservations and CRM. Delivery, pickup, takeaway — all of that goes somewhere else. Usually to a marketplace that takes 20–30% and keeps the customer.

Oddle Shop is your own branded ordering page, with logistics solved through our long-running Lalamove partnership, menus built to drive online orders, and economics designed around your margin — not a marketplace's.

  • Branded ordering on your own domain — not a marketplace listing
  • Menu built to drive online orders: bundles first, signatures next, fewer steps to checkout
  • Built-in emails for abandoned carts, first orders, and repeat guests
  • Far better margins on direct orders than marketplace aggregators — guest relationship stays with you

Questions restaurant operators ask us.

The questions we hear most from operators evaluating us against UMAI.

How much does Oddle cost vs. UMAI?
Oddle's All-Access plan starts at RM315/mo in Malaysia — reservations, ordering, delivery, marketing, and enrolments on one bill, with no per-diner network fees. UMAI starts at RM300–400/mo, then adds RM 3 per diner for bookings from Google Reserve or partner networks, plus you'll need a separate ordering platform. A restaurant doing 100 Google-sourced covers a month lands at RM850+ before counting ordering costs. See /pricing for full Oddle plan details.
What is UMAI's RM 3 per diner charge?
UMAI charges RM 3 per diner (per cover, not per booking) for any reservation that comes through Google Reserve, their booking network partners, or third-party channels. Direct bookings through your own UMAI widget are covered by the subscription. If you're visible on Google Maps and get meaningful discovery traffic, those fees compound quickly.
Can I migrate my existing guest data from UMAI?
Yes. We've run this migration for groups across Southeast Asia. The Oddle team handles export, clean-up, and import on your behalf. Typical turnaround is under two weeks.
Is Oddle available in Malaysia?
Yes. Oddle operates in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, and the UAE. Each market has local support, local payment rails, and templates built for that market.
