Updated 29 September 2026. Oddle pricing checked on this date.

When a guest changes a booking from eight people to six, your team needs to know which table to hold and what happens to the deposit. That's a useful test for any restaurant reservation system in Malaysia.

This comparison is published by Oddle, the provider of Oddle Reserve.

Five options to shortlist

  • Oddle Reserve: bookings, deposits and guest records connected to other Oddle services.
  • UMAI: flexible table layouts and seating times, with availability at another outlet when one is full.
  • TABLEAPP: reaching guests who discover restaurants through booking sites.
  • Eatigo: attracting bookings during quieter services with timed dining discounts.
  • TableCheck: table management and detailed guest records, with connections to hotel and point-of-sale systems.

Oddle Reserve

Reserve handles online and staff-entered bookings, floor plans and seating, with guest profiles and notes for your team. You can take deposits or payment in advance, or ask guests to provide a card that can be charged under your cancellation policy. Guest profiles connect activity across Oddle reservations, orders, payments and check-ins.

The Oddle Malaysia plan starts at RM400 a month, billed monthly with a one-year commitment, or RM3,600 paid annually. Reserve is included: the first 500 reservations each month are covered, then each additional reservation costs RM0.50. Walk-ins are unlimited. This is the wider Oddle plan's starting price; ask for a quote covering everything your restaurant will use.

Shortlist Oddle Reserve if you want the team handling bookings to see a guest's activity across your other Oddle services. If all you need is a basic booking form, compare simpler options before committing to a year.

UMAI

UMAI lets guests book on your website, join a waitlist and see availability at another outlet when their first choice is full. Its table management tools include floor plans, table combinations and different dining durations for different tables.

Its payment options include taking payment for pre-orders. Ask which deposit and cancellation options are available for your restaurant, and get a Malaysian quote covering the booking, payment and marketing features you need.

Shortlist UMAI if your team often joins smaller tables for large groups, runs more than one sitting or wants to show guests availability at your other outlets.

TABLEAPP

Restaurants can receive bookings through TABLEAPP and FunNow, record guest preferences and use tools for managing service. Ask the team to demonstrate how it handles phone and WhatsApp bookings, deposits and table changes.

For Malaysia pricing, request the merchant fees and any promotional commitments in writing. Have the quote specify which booking tools and payment arrangements are included.

Shortlist it if reaching guests who are still deciding where to eat is a priority. Browse the restaurants around your outlet and ask TABLEAPP for evidence of demand in your area.

Eatigo

Eatigo is a booking channel with timed dining discounts, operating in Malaysia. Guests choose a restaurant and time-based offer. Consider it when you want more bookings during quieter services, and assess what each offer earns after costs. If you need one diary for online, phone and WhatsApp reservations, confirm how Eatigo bookings fit into that workflow.

Ask how your team handles booking changes and table allocation, and whether deposits or advance payments are available for your offer. Request the Malaysia merchant charges and promotional terms in writing, including your control over offer times and menu exclusions.

On an illustrative RM100 food bill, a 30% discount leaves RM70 before merchant fees, food costs and other expenses. If your Saturday dinner is already full, test the offer during a quieter service.

TableCheck

TableCheck offers branded booking pages, table management and guest profiles. It supports taking guests' card details to charge cancellation fees, with connections to payment, point-of-sale and hotel systems. In Malaysia, THYME at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur takes bookings through TableCheck.

Get a Malaysia quote that separates the core system, payment charges, optional features and setup work. If you take deposits or payment in advance, ask which options the quote covers.

Shortlist TableCheck if you run a hotel restaurant, have several outlets or need bookings to connect to systems you already use. Ask for a demonstration with your specific point-of-sale or hotel software, including which information passes between them.

Compare the monthly bill in ringgit

A booking and a cover are different units. One reservation for four guests is one booking and four covers. That distinction changes the bill when a vendor charges by volume.

Use the same month from your booking records for every quote. With Oddle's RM400 monthly option, for example, 700 reservations would cost RM400 + (200 × RM0.50) = RM500 for the plan and reservation usage, before other usage charges and applicable taxes.

Oddle's pricing page also lists online payments from 3% + RM1 and local SMS notifications at RM0.30 each. Add the fees for the payments and messages you expect to use.

For each quote, ask what counts towards the bill. Do cancelled bookings count? What about no-shows, bookings your staff enter or guests who book through your own website? If you run more than one outlet, check whether the price and included booking allowance apply per outlet or across the group.

Add the subscription, setup, payment and messaging charges, and check whether the quote includes applicable taxes. Repeat the calculation for a quiet month and a busy month. For a marketplace offer, include the discount your restaurant funds as well as the platform's fee.

Keep the contract term beside the total. A monthly bill with a one-year commitment is a different decision from a plan you can end each month.

Try your own bookings in the demo

Bring the person who handles reservations to the demo. Use your own floor plan and ask them to work through a booking for eight guests on Saturday at 7pm. Then change it to six, add a walk-in table and cancel another reservation. Watch whether the available tables and guest messages update as expected.

If you take deposits for large groups, private rooms or a Ramadan buffet, test that flow too. Ask when the guest pays, how the amount is applied to the meal bill or refunded, and when your restaurant receives it. If guests provide a card instead of paying a deposit, have the vendor show when staff can charge it and what policy the guest sees.

Try the payment step on a phone. If your guests need FPX or DuitNow, ask the vendor to show the method working in its Malaysia booking flow.

Read the confirmation from the guest's side. It should make the arrival time, deposit amount and cancellation deadline clear, with a way to change or cancel the booking. Check the languages your guests and staff need, too.

Before ending the demo, ask who your team can contact during evening and weekend service, and what they should do if the internet drops. Put those answers beside the price when you compare the systems.

Check what you can keep when you leave

Ask each vendor for a sample export. Look for the guest's contact details, booking history, notes and recorded marketing preferences. Find out what you can download yourself, what needs a support request and what happens to access when your contract ends.

If you plan to send offers to past guests, also check how the booking form asks for marketing permission and how you can see that choice later. Having someone's phone number for a reservation doesn't tell your team whether they want promotional messages.

Ask Oddle these questions too.

Do you need a system if you take bookings on WhatsApp?

If WhatsApp and a shared diary are working for your team, keep them. Consider a system when staff lose track of changes, two people promise the same table, or confirming bookings takes too much time during service.

You can keep WhatsApp as a way for guests to contact you. The practical change is having one booking record that every shift uses, including reservations taken by phone or message.

Choose the right fit for your restaurant

For day-to-day reservation management, shortlist two systems and give both vendors the same booking volume and service scenario. Ask your reservations team which system made the work easier, then compare that answer with the written quote and contract. For a discount channel such as Eatigo, compare the extra bookings it brings with the margin you keep after each offer.

To try Reserve, request an Oddle demo and bring your floor plan, recent booking numbers and deposit policy.
