Who’s Really Winning Singapore’s Food Scene? Google Just Told Us.

From the Desk of Jonathan Lim, Founder & CEO, Oddle

Eating is our national sport.

When we’re not eating, we’re planning what to eat next.

One lazy afternoon, I went down a rabbit hole—typing in cuisines I loved: "best zichar", "best Italian", "best hotpot".

But instead of relying on influencers or food blogs, I looked straight at Google’s local rankings.

The result? A surprisingly objective view of which restaurants are winning online.

Not based on ads. Not based on PR. Just visibility, reviews, and relevance.

Here are Singapore’s top 5 restaurants across 9 popular food categories—based purely on Google’s organic results¹.

What Powers This Ranking?

These aren’t sponsored placements.

They’re the top organic search results shown to diners when they search on Google. Powered by BrandCheck, this list reflects a restaurant’s true online visibility—based on reviews, ratings, recency, and relevance.

Why This Matters:

Every day, thousands of diners search “best steak near me” or “top zichar in Singapore.”

If your restaurant doesn’t appear—you’re invisible.

BrandCheck helps you change that.

We show you:

  • Where your restaurant ranks on Google.
  • What’s hurting your visibility (e.g. outdated listings, weak reviews).
  • What to fix to climb the rankings.

It's like having a brand scorecard, updated weekly, so you never fall behind your competitors again.

Note 1: How We Compiled These Rankings

To keep things objective, we used a search API to pull Google’s organic results for each cuisine and category. Your own results may differ depending on your location, device, and search history, but this approach gives a neutral snapshot of what most diners see when searching in Singapore.
